Context
NUPCO needed to prove its quality standards to international partners. The warehouse handles controlled substances, so physical tours were a security problem. The goal: a remote audit tool with full transparency and no security risk from visitors.
My role
I led the product from research to delivery.
What I did
- On-site research. Spent a week in the facility, studying logistics flows and filming workflows to reproduce the exact rhythm of the operation.
- A living simulation, not static 360° photos. A linear, voice-guided tour surrounded by an autonomous ecosystem: forklifts moving pallets and staff scanning inventory in the background.
- Designed it as a breathing, working facility rather than a staged 3D model.
Result
- During the pandemic, flight bans made the mandatory physical inspection impossible and negotiations over COVID-19 treatments with Chinese suppliers stalled.
- International regulators accepted the VR tour as a valid substitute for a physical audit — an exception that helped unlock supply during the crisis.
