Multiplayer Chemistry Lab: Proving Network Sync First
An MVP scoped around the riskiest assumption: keeping complex chemical states identical for every player in real time.

Context
Can complex chemical states stay synchronised across all clients in real time? Before building an administrative backend we needed to prove that fluid mixing logic does not diverge between players.
My role
I scoped the MVP deliberately around network architecture rather than UI polish, so that the riskiest assumption was tested first.
What I did
- Synchronised physics. Pouring liquids and mixing reagents look identical for all users instantly.
- Branching scenarios with consequences. Errors cause broken funnels, chemical leaks and safety breaches, visible to everyone — one person’s mistake endangers the group.
- Roles. Hard-coded Teacher and Student roles to test the pedagogical flow.
- Voice and presence. VoIP to check that social presence creates a learning effect.
Result
- A functional engineering build delivered to the client, with live net-code debug telemetry on screen.
- The riskiest part of the product proven before investing in the admin backend.
